The Village of Beer: East Devon

Adding & Enhancing Your Listings

With everything new brings change but change is not always easy to understand.

beer-devon.co.uk has devised some terms & conditions to help you understand how you can gain and enhance a business listing on this website.

Three listing sections

  1. ‘Attractions’ – For businesses/organisations approved of being a tourist attraction.
  2. ‘Amenities’ – For businesses/organisations approved of being a local amenity valuable to tourism.
  3. ‘Local Directory’ – For local businesses/organisations operating in the local area.

Two types of listing

  1. A ‘Basic Listing’ consisting of: a listing title, a listing description (350 words maximum) and contact details being a telephone number and a postal address.
  2. An ‘Enhanced Listing’ consisting of: a picture (size 450pixels x 275pixels at 72dpi), a listing title, a listing description (350 words maximum) and some contact details being a telephone number, a postal address, a website link and an email address.

How it works

Any local business/organisation can apply for a FREE ‘Basic Listing’ using our basic listing submission form. If we think your business/organisation would be of interest to tourists/visitors your ‘Basic Listing’ could be placed in either the ‘Attractions’ or ‘Amenities’ sections and eligible for a FREE picture upgrade, otherwise your listing will be placed in the ‘Local Directory’ section.

If you would like to upgrade your ‘Basic Listing’ to an ‘Enhanced Listing’ you will need to visit our listing administration request form and pay a non-refundable annual listing administration fee of £20 (subject to change), please see terms & conditions for more details.

Why Charge?

We would love to do this for nothing, but building and maintaining a website takes a lot of time and costs money. Many hours have already been spent building this website and designing it to help promote the village, and many more hours will be spent administrating & updating it, to make sure it always looks nice and works.

Exceptions

Charities and good causes need extra support, so if you’re a local one, we’ll give you an ‘Enhanced Listing’ for FREE. Just email us and let us know who you are.

Website contributors may also be upgraded to an ‘enhanced listing’ without charge, subject to agreement.

Timescales

An ‘Enhanced Listing’ is a high priority so we will aim to have that online within a week after receiving the admin fee.

We will aim to add a ‘Basic Listing’ within one month of receiving a submission.

Please Note: The above timescales are subject to a listing’s approval and are targets, which may be dramatically reduced or extended depending on how busy we are.
