Beer has its own Horticultural Society with 20 members who organise the Flower Show which takes place every year on the first Thursday in August, and the so-called Charm Show (exhibition of locally grown charm chrysanthemums) which is scheduled for the first Saturday in November every year.

The Beer Horticultural Society also selects, plants and maintains the annual plants for approximately 70 containers which beautify the village for at least 6 months of the year and which are regularly judged (with positive results) by the Britain in Bloom organisation.
